WELCOME TO THE WORK PLACEMENT ABROAD PROGRAMME
Work placement abroad constitutes a highly recommended component of the graduate study programme. Students are encouraged to undertake their work placement abroad in one of the established partner organisations or businesses; yet are not limited to these. Work placement abroad enables students to broaden their horizons beyond the scope of their current study programme, puts their learning into practice, and further develops their ability to apply themselves to a wide range of work tasks across diverse work environments. During the work placement abroad, students at all times develop their ability to conduct themselves professionally and perform independently and responsibly. The experience gained increases students´ employability and assists them in entering the job market.
It is important for students to establish the impact that taking up a work placement abroad will have on their existing academic programmes. It is the student’s responsibility to inform their lecturers and course tutors of their plans and make arrangements for their continued learning.
As part of the work placement abroad programme, students will commit to completing a monthly review and having an assessment of their performance being undertaken by their supervisor. Students will also maintain a portfolio of evidence of examples of the types of work undertaken to underpin their experiences.
