1993: Pedagogical Faculty, Charles University Prague, Dissertation, Pedagogy, specialisation Comeniology (CSc.; Urban Schools and Education in the Czech Lands Before the Battle on the White Mountain).

2007: Philosophical Faculty, University of South Bohemia, habilitation in Czech history (Higher Schools and Education in South Bohemia from the Middle Ages to the mid-20th Century).
