The concept of the consecutive Master's single specialisation programme Spanish Language is based on the portfolio of Bachelor's romance specialisations, which are characterized by a focus on specialist administrative - legal language. This specialist part is present in both - the traditional Bachelor's philological disciplines (Spanish Language and Literature), where it complements the core literary-linguistic and especially in the so-called applied disciplines (Spanish for European and International Trade), where they form the second main pillar of the specialisation (besides the linguistic module). Consecutive Master's degree in Spanish Language is designed to allow graduates of the above-mentioned specialisations to continue in their studies and acquire the knowledge and competencies corresponding to the requirements of Master's Philological Studies. According to the chosen specialization, the graduate will acquire a thorough training in literary science or will be more specialised in the field of linguistics of the specialist legal-administrative language.

The aim of the programme is to provide graduates with comprehensive linguistic knowledge in Spanish philology. In the area of practical language and communicative skills, graduates will acquire skills corresponding to level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference.

According to their chosen specialization, the graduate will acquire a thorough training in literary science or will be more specialised in the field of linguistics of the specialist legal-administrative language. They will also have deepened their translation skills.

In the literary specialization, graduates will deepen their knowledge especially regarding the earlier stages of Spanish literature, Hispanic literature and history of translation.

Owing to their advanced linguistic, cultural and communication training, the graduates will be able to find employment wherever a public or private employer requires a high level of linguistic knowledge, intercultural competences and independent, critical and creative thinking such as a translator, editor, liaison officer with the Spanish speaking environment, public relations, etc. More extensive linguistic or literary theoretical training also creates the prerequisites for continuing studies in Doctoral programmes.
